A school in Samanabad Faisalabad was
adopted and five rooms were
constructed in two phases with the
cost of more than Rs. 700000/. In
1901-02 ceiling fans, black boards
were also provided and painting was
arranged. It is an on-going project.
Under matching grant of Rotary
Foundation US$5,500.00 have been
approved for books and other needs
of the school. The money was
collected in 1901-02. The project
was submitted next year.
Food items worth more than hundred
thousand of rupees were provided to
refugee camps in Azad Kashmir.
From time to time sewing machines to
the widows and vocational schools,
wheel chairs to disabled, hand pumps
for drinking water, cash payments
for medical help and for marriages
of poor girls were provided to needy
people. In this project 33 machines
were given to widows and Rs.175000/
to a student suffering from Cancer
were donated in 1992-93. Again 55
machines, 6 wheelchairs, Rs.100000/
for a mosque and Rs30000/ to a
seriously burnt person were given in
1997-98. Again in 1999-2000 sewing
machines to 10 girls at their
wedding were given. In 2001-02, 16
more machines were donated.
One hundred copies of Holy Quran
translated in English language were
donated to a Muslim missionary in
Philippine
For Bosnia refugee camp Rs. 96000/
were collected and sent through
Rotary District.
Pakistan Navy Women Association was
provided a cash payment and quilts
worth Rs. 185000/. |
