CLUB PROJECTS
 
Deaf and Dumb School

In early Fifties when Peoples Colony was formed by the Govt. a piece of land was kept for this school. The club not only provided monetary help but also helped in the running of school. Even after handing over the club had been helping the school for many years. In a similar school in Chiniot uniforms and desks were provided to 40 students.

 
Leprosy Center

Rotary Club of Faisalabad provided all types of help in construction and running of leprosy center. The service to the institution still continues. Every year, Rotarians visit the center on Independence Day of Pakistan and at the visit of District Governor, to distribute presents and food among the people admitted. In 1998-99 a 20 Inch Color TV was also donated to the Leprosy Center.

 
Anti T. B. Association

It was all Rotarians who started this association and constructed two hospitals. One in the center of the city and other at Samanabad. Both are being run very successfully with outdoor and indoor facilities. Hundreds of TB patients are being treated every day. Every year medicines worth thousands of rupees are provided on Eid Milad Un Nabi and on visit of Distrist Governor. In 1992- 93 our club donated 44 ceiling fans. Quite recently, a new X-ray machine costing US$:24,980.00 along-with all accessories have been provided to the city hospital under a matching grant through Rotary Foundation. In TB hospital a Rotary garden was developed costing Rs.25000. For TB hospital of Hafizabad Rs.100000 were also donated.

 
Blind Association

Complete Braille system with papers was provided to the blind association. Besides a refrigerator, a typewriter, complete equipment and medicines for eyes were provided. In 1999-2000 a complete digital telephone exchange was also provided. In 2002-03 Rupees 50,000/- were also donated to National Blind Cricket Team who won the Blind Cricket world Cup.

 
Class Rooms

Two classrooms were constructed in a primary girls school in Madina Town Faisalabad. Monetary help was also provided to a school at Millat Road. About one kilometer pipeline of PVC along with a pump was provided and laid for people of Kheorha, a salt belt area, for pumping of sweet water.

 
Scholarship Fund

The fund was raised with a sum of one hundred thousand rupees in 1987 all donated by members. Now the amount has increased to Rs.1.2 million. Every year more than 20 students from professional colleges of Faisalabad are given Scholarships, which continue till the completion of the tenure.

This is an on going project controlled by a board of directors comprised of senior Rotarians. In 1997- 98 Rs. 200000/ were given to the fund from other Rotary accounts and through donations.

In 1999-2000 a poor girl was provided Rs. 27000/ for higher studies.
In 20011-02 two poor and position holder students were given Rs.23500/ for admission in medical college.

 
Recognition of Position Holder Students

Every year the students who get first three positions in Matric and Intermediate in science and humanity groups from Faisalabad Board of Education are given presents.

Besides, gifts were given to the students of SOS village. In 1998-99 the entire school in SOS village was painted.

One hundred blankets were given to flood affected people in Jhang district. Again in 1992-93 Rs.187000/ were given in cash to flood affected people of Jhang district.

For water holes in Tharparkar area Rs.18000/ were donated to construct 12 water tanks.

 
School Project

A school in Samanabad Faisalabad was adopted and five rooms were constructed in two phases with the cost of more than Rs. 700000/. In 1901-02 ceiling fans, black boards were also provided and painting was arranged. It is an on-going project. Under matching grant of Rotary Foundation US$5,500.00 have been approved for books and other needs of the school. The money was collected in 1901-02. The project was submitted next year.

Food items worth more than hundred thousand of rupees were provided to refugee camps in Azad Kashmir.

From time to time sewing machines to the widows and vocational schools, wheel chairs to disabled, hand pumps for drinking water, cash payments for medical help and for marriages of poor girls were provided to needy people. In this project 33 machines were given to widows and Rs.175000/ to a student suffering from Cancer were donated in 1992-93. Again 55 machines, 6 wheelchairs, Rs.100000/ for a mosque and Rs30000/ to a seriously burnt person were given in 1997-98. Again in 1999-2000 sewing machines to 10 girls at their wedding were given. In 2001-02, 16 more machines were donated.

One hundred copies of Holy Quran translated in English language were donated to a Muslim missionary in Philippine

For Bosnia refugee camp Rs. 96000/ were collected and sent through Rotary District.

Pakistan Navy Women Association was provided a cash payment and quilts worth Rs. 185000/.
